Dispatches from Quarantine:
Young People on Covid-19

Makayla Honahni

I wrote what came to my mind about what I remember of a normal day before this and compare it to my days now.

Before

I wake up before the sun does.
Eat 3 boiled eggs on a half hour ride to school.
See my friends before nap time (aka 1st hour).
Walk to 2nd hour awake and ready to do math.
3rd hour entails playing beautiful music.
Exercise before lunch.
See my favorite people and feed myself.
Almost done with my day but first physics.
So close to freedom but I have an interesting class ahead.
Another half-hour ride home to my room.
Try to do homework, keyword “try.”
Sleep
Repeat

Now

Wake up.
It's lunchtime, so I have food.
Contemplate getting ready.
Decide it’s a waste and get ready to do work.
Go to my room ready to be productive but get distracted.
Play Animal Crossing for the next 6 hours.
Eat dinner.
Actually do homework at midnight.
Watch the sunrise.
Decide it's time to go to bed.
Sleep.
Repeat.
